An accomplished attorney, Ms. McDaniel’s career has spanned several law firms, including Briggs and Morgan PA (now Taft Law), Merchant & Gould PC, and an in-house position with major medical device manufacturer Medtronic, where she managed medical device patent litigation from 2005 to 2008.
In preparation for her career, Ms. McDaniel earned a degree in chemistry from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983. In 1988, Ms. McDaniel graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School with a Doctor of Jurisprudence.
For her professional excellence, Ms. McDaniel has been honored among the top lawyers in intellectual property litigation by Minnesota Monthly in 2022. In 2019, she earned an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and since 2015, she has been honored among Best Lawyers in America. From 2014 to 2018, Ms. McDaniel was listed by Minnesota Super Lawyers. She has additionally been recognized as a North Star Lawyer with the Minnesota State Bar Association and an Attorney of the Year award from Minnesota Lawyer in 2012.
Ms. McDaniel attributes her success to her inner drive and determination, as well as to the support of her mentors. Among her accomplishments, she prides herself on her near spotless trial record. In her spare time, Ms. McDaniel enjoys cooking, gardening and creative writing.
