Kelley L. Margetas, a trial deputy prosecutor at the York County District Attorney’s Office, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of legal service.
Recognized for more than two decades of contributions to her chosen field, Ms. Margetas has most recently earned distinction in her role at the York County District Attorney’s Office, through which she has honed her expertise in criminal law, prosecution, appellate work, courtroom advocacy and litigation. Bearing a particular focus on child abuse and domestic violence, she has brought over 50 cases to trial throughout the course of her career and, most notably, co-chaired a death penalty homicide trial that lasted two weeks. Having begun her career as a law clerk at the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 2002, Ms. Margetas went on to excel in various roles in public service at the York County District Attorney’s Office, the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General and the Adams County District Attorney’s Office.
Ms. Margetas first studied politics, history and business administration at Ursinus College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1999. Following this accomplishment, she went on to attend Penn State Dickinson Law, from which she earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2002, and has been admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and all of its federal courts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. In addition to her subsequent work in law, Ms. Margetas has also stood as a Republican candidate for local office and hopes to be elected as the York County Judge of the Court of Common Pleas.
