Francis “Frank” E. Kohl, JD, Attorney, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in criminal law.
As an experienced attorney with more than 45 years in practice, Mr. Kohl has excelled in private practice since 2009. From 2018 to 2021, he served as a municipal court judge pro tempore for Leavenworth County. For more than a decade, he contributed his talents as a representative for indigent defendants at the Leavenworth County Juvenile Court.
Prior to these positions, Mr. Kohl garnered experience in private practice from 1977 to 1979 and as an assistant and deputy county attorney for Leavenworth County from 1979 to 1984. From 1984 to 2009, he worked as a county attorney. In addition to his primary endeavors, Mr. Kohl served on the Community Corrections Advisory Board from 1984 to 2021.
Esteemed for his experience and knowledge, Mr. Kohl contributed to “Strategies Combating Domestic Violence” by the Kansas Bar Association. For his achievements, he was recognized by Judge Joan Lowdon of the Leavenworth County District Court for Exemplary Service to the Court System in 2022. In preparation for his career in the law, Mr. Kohl attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in personnel management and political science in 1974. In 1977, he obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the same institution and was admitted to practice law in the state of Kansas.
To keep abreast of his field, Mr. Kohl maintains membership with the Kansas Bar Association, the Leavenworth County Bar Association, the National District Attorneys Association and the National Association of Government Employees. He attributes his success to his willingness to step into situations others would shy away from. In the coming years, Mr. Kohl plans to enter his well-deserved retirement. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, hunting and fishing.
