Mr. Hacker laid a solid educational foundation, earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Tulane University in 1970, a Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in 1972, and is admitted to the Supreme Court of Texas and the State Bar of Texas. Reflecting on his path, he takes great pride in his experience with Citibank, where he was instrumental in compliance and oversight. Early in his career, he worked with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which was his entry point into the financial industry. He distinguished himself by his willingness to listen and find solutions rather than simply saying no. This approach was honed during his time at Citigroup and earlier at PHH Corporation, a business-to-business financial services firm that underwent multiple spinoffs involving prominent entities such as Wyndham, Avis Car Rental, Budget Rent a Car, Coldwell Banker, ERA Real Estate, and Century 21. In his role at PHH, he worked in mortgage and corporate relocation operations, collaborating with major Fortune 100 companies and negotiating high-stakes contracts, including with Mobil Oil prior to its merger with Exxon.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Hacker was honored with an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell in 2016 and has received several corporate awards, attributing his success to perseverance and a steadfast commitment to excellence in everything he does. He often says, “I’m not battle-tested; I’m battle-scarred,” reflecting his belief that every experience, especially the challenging ones, contributes to personal growth. He recognizes that just when he thinks he has a complete understanding, new insights emerge that broaden his knowledge, which drives his commitment to continuous learning. Looking to the future, he enjoys his work and plans to continue as long as it remains fulfilling. Personally, he remains determined to keep doing what he loves, including playing games, traveling, and taking photographs, with intentions to continue working for the foreseeable future.
