Before founding McCollum Legal PLLC, Ms. McCollum was a criminal defense attorney at Westlake Legal Group in Northern Virginia from 2017 to 2021. During her tenure at the firm, she handled civil law matters, family law cases and criminal defense work, a field she found especially rewarding. Ms. McCollum’s experience at Westlake Legal Group provided a strong foundation in litigation and client advocacy, which proved invaluable as she transitioned to managing her own practice.
Ms. McCollum’s academic background included undergraduate studies at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science in political science and economics, magna cum laude, in 2014. While at Shepherd University, she received the prestigious McMurran Scholar Award in 2013, the highest academic honor in her department. She was also inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and held the position of president within her political science honors fraternity. Ms. McCollum then earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., in 2017.
Ms. McCollum holds professional research certification from LexisNexis. She was admitted to practice by the Virginia Bar Association in 2017. These credentials have enabled her to provide comprehensive legal representation across a range of complex cases.
