Roddan, a boutique firm that has focused on federal intellectual property law and other transactional matters in corporate law, business law, contract law, and securities for over 20 years. Her work largely involves cases before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, allowing her to manage responsibilities remotely. Additionally, as she operates at the federal level, her practice serves clients nationwide. Her experience also includes founding and leading Bliss Nutritional Sciences, where she served as president, chief science officer, and chief legal counsel from 2011 to 2017, medical science liaison at Sanofi from 1999 to 2004, and president of American Prescription Inc. from 1985 to 1992. She also held roles as a medical science liaison and manager of pharmacy affairs in the pharmaceutical division of 3M, in addition to contributing to various handbooks and reference guides.
Dr. Roddan also dedicates her time as an active member of numerous organizations, including the California Pharmacists Association, California Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, American Pharmacists Association, American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, Women in Pharmacy, and the Orange County Pharmacists Association. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has received several honors, including the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the American Jurisprudence Award for International Law Moot Court, the Emory Thurston Award for Excellence in Professional Endeavors from USC School of Pharmacy, and the Woman of the Year Award from Women in Pharmacy. She was notably awarded Entrepreneur of the Year for founding the first mail-order pharmaceutical company in the United States in 1988. Licensed by the FDA for repackaging, her company partnered with large corporations and unions to provide starter packs of commonly prescribed medications, enabling patients to begin treatment immediately. While mail-order pharmacy services are now standard, her company set the industry benchmark, pioneering the model that many follow today.
Laying a solid educational foundation for her achievements, Dr. Roddan earned a Bachelor of Science in organic chemistry from the University of La Verne, a Juris Doctor from Western State College of Law, and a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Southern California. She holds bar admissions to the California Bar, the Federal U.S. District Court, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a certified registered pharmacist in California. She attributes her success to her parents, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who were all entrepreneurs. Raised with a deep understanding of business, she was able to quickly excel in her career. With an exceptional IQ, she advanced through school, graduating from college at 19 and completing her doctorate by the age of 24. In the coming years, she plans to continue her work, helping even more people, with no intention of retiring on the horizon.
