During his tenure there, he honed his skills in intellectual property law, further solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in the field. He also chaired the firm’s chemistry and biotechnology group and was active on its management committee. Between 2006 and 2014, Mr. Webb was also a partner and patent attorney at Stoel Rives LLP, a leading United States corporate and litigation law firm in Portland, Oregon, where he excelled as the firm’s practice group leader for technology and intellectual property.
Mr. Webb’s career also included significant roles outside of private practice. From 2004 to 2006, he was the senior intellectual property counsel at NPS Pharmaceuticals, now part of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited. He also served as a patent counsel for Johnson & Johnson Services Inc. and ALZA Corporation between 2001 and 2004. His early career began at TraskBritt, where Mr. Webb worked as a patent agent and attorney from 1997 to 2001.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Webb has contributed to academia as an adjunct assistant professor at his alma mater, S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, in Salt Lake City since 2024. He previously shared his knowledge as a guest lecturer at the University of Washington School of Law from 2009 to 2012. Mr. Webb’s commitment to education reflects his dedication to nurturing future generations of legal professionals.
Mr. Webb’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Utah in 1996 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in 1999.
