In preparation for his legal career, Mr. Stella obtained an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He also received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Nova Southeastern University. Mr. Stella was admitted to practice by the Florida Bar Association in 1979. He was subsequently admitted to practice by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Beyond his formal education, Mr. Stella has been networking and remaining at the forefront of the legal industry through his affiliations with the Florida chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the personal injury, criminal law and family law sections of the Florida Bar Association. Mr. Stella also remains committed to giving back to his community by providing anywhere between 40 and 60 hours of annual pro bono services.
Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Stella has successfully taken many cases to trial when other attorneys would settle for plea deals. His fearless commitment to his clients has earned him respect throughout Florida, as he commits to finding reasonable solutions. Moreover, Mr. Stella has notably handed numerous cases where he successfully secured not-guilty verdicts that surprised many colleagues and legal experts.
