Mr. Joyce-Schleimer laid an educational foundation, earning a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of South Carolina in 2003, a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2008, and a Master of Public Policy in homeland security and international development from Georgetown University in 2008. He dedicates time serving as a founding member of the advisory board for the Initiative on Closing the Investment Gap in Sustainable Infrastructure at the Center for Global Sustainability since 2018. His other contributions include pro bono work with Ayuda in 2008, serving on the board of directors for the Disaster Accountability Project from 2006 to 2011, and volunteering for reforestation efforts in the Amazon.

Mr. Joyce-Schleimer has been recognized for his contributions to award-winning transactions, including his work with Deals of the Year teams. He played a key role in representing the creditors’ committee for Lehman Brothers during the financial crisis, focusing on analyzing the derivatives book, and was instrumental in Blackstone’s landmark investment in Invenergy, one of the largest investments in a renewable power platform. He has also consulted for the United Nations, helping developing countries structure and market infrastructure projects. In light of his impressive undertakings, in 2023, he was named a key lawyer in energy and renewables and alternative power by Legal 500. He attributes his success to consistent effort and his ability to empathize with collaborators.
