Mr. King’s background includes serving as a trial lawyer at his own practice, Howard R. Earlier in his career, he was a trial lawyer at Royston Rayzor, Vickery & Williams from 1982 to 1985. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in government from the University of Texas at Austin, obtained in 1979, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston in 1982. He is admitted to practice in numerous courts, including the United States Supreme Court and multiple Texas districts, with certifications in personal injury trial law and civil trial law. Additionally, he is a member of the American Association of Corporate Counsel, a global organization dedicated to supporting in-house counsel and legal professionals who work for corporations, and the American Bar Association, a national organization dedicated to advancing the legal profession and improving justice, with active roles as a sports coach and baseball coach.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. King takes pride in his tenure as a trial lawyer, especially in the civil cases where he delivered impactful results for his clients. While not all cases gained public recognition, each held immense value, and he was dedicated to achieving the best outcomes. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has held the AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell since 1990. He attributes his success to his strong professional networks and his commitment to client advocacy, as well as various mentors and other lawyers he encountered during disputes.
