He previously held roles as vice president and assistant general counsel of intellectual property at Cantor Fitzgerald from 2007 to 2014, and intellectual property associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP from 2003 to 2007, Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP from 2001 to 2003, Shearman & Sterling from 1999 to 2001, and Morgan & Finnegan from 1995 to 1999. Earlier in his career, he worked as a registered patent agent at Fish & Richardson PC from 1992 to 1995, a senior software engineer at Apollo Computer Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co. from 1986 to 1992, a senior software engineer at Pixel Computer, Pixel Systems, xePIX from 1983 to 1986, and a systems programmer at Herman Miller from 1980 to 1981. He was also an adjunct lecturer at Merrimack College from 1987 to 1990.

Mr. Boundy has also served as a lecturer for the Advanced Patent Prosecution Workshop at the Practicing Law Institute and as a panel moderator on Chevron Deference at the Federal Circuit Judicial Conference in 2018. His civic involvement includes supporting the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and he is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Prior to these accomplishments, he pursued an education at Hope College, earning a Bachelor of Science in computer science, mathematics, and Physics in 1979, followed by obtaining a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering in 1983 from the University of Michigan. He concluded his studies with a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School in 1997. He also completed certifications in Intellectual Property Strategy from World 300, Intellectual Asset Management. To stay current on the latest industry standards and developments, he is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. 

A notable accomplishment in Mr. Boundy’s career is his contributions to the intersection of administrative and intellectual property law. As an expert in this specialized area, he helps clients when they believe the Patent Office is not treating their cases fairly due to a lack of evidence or jurisdictional overstepping. Additionally, he takes pride in being a panel moderator at the Federal Circuit Judicial Conference in 2018.
