His prior experience includes serving as an attorney with Cole, Scott & Kissane from 2011 to 2019 and 18 years in the construction industry in Puerto Rico. He laid a strong educational foundation with a Bachelor of Arts in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez in 1992, a Juris Doctor from the Inter American University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2006, and a master’s degree in engineering management from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico in 2007. He has been admitted to the bar in Puerto Rico since 2007 and in Florida since 2010 and is a board-certified attorney in construction law. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Puerto Rico Bar, and the College of Professional Engineers in Puerto Rico.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Padua’s background in engineering laid the foundation for his 18-year career in the construction industry in Puerto Rico, where he began with electrical and mechanical work before advancing to project management roles. His experience led to his recruitment by Cole, Scott & Kissane to help establish a construction division. His most notable achievement is an ongoing initiative to establish a dedicated construction group within his current office. This endeavor focuses on assembling a skilled team to streamline construction processes, improve project management, and enhance collaboration among stakeholders. His vision is to create a cohesive unit that drives efficiency, fosters innovation, and delivers excellence in all aspects of construction projects. He believes what sets his apart is his unique integration of technical construction expertise into his legal practice. Unlike many attorneys who rely heavily on consultants, his hands-on experience allows him to deeply understand the complexities of construction claims and effectively guide clients through the process.
Mr. Padua attributes his success to the values instilled in him during his upbringing.
