Company: The Collier Law Firm P.C.
Location: Cornelius, North Carolina, United States

Christina M. Collier, Esq., president and attorney at The Collier Law Firm P.C., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in legal services.

With nearly two and a half decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Collier has excelled in residential real estate closing, chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies, and domestic separations and divorce. He currently serves as the president and an attorney at The Collier Law Firm PC, a role she has held since 2012. She was also a partner at Partner, Berger, Joyce and Collier Law PA from 2011 to 2012, an Associate Attorney at Lutzel, Broadway & Associates PC from 2007 to 2011, and an attorney at NVRSS from 2005 to 2007. She began her career as a Staff Attorney at Families in Transition/Family Law Center from 2002 to 2005. Additionally, she has “Bankruptcy Frauds in Individually Filed Chapter 7 & Chapter 13 Cases,” published by the Journal of Forensic Studies in Accounting and Business in 2015.

Laying a solid foundation for her future success, Ms. Collier pursued an education at The University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1994. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from UNC Charlotte in 1998 and a Juris Doctor from the Oklahoma City University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 2001. Following these accomplishments, she went on to earn a master’s degree in accounting from UNC Chapel Hill in 2014. She also has based the bar to practice law in North Carolina and is a certified notary public. Additionally, she holds memberships with William J. Holloway, Jr. American Inn of Court, American Inns of Court, the North Carolina State Bar, the Mecklenburg Bar Association, and The International Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi.

Reflecting on her career, Ms. Collier says she has always been passionate about problem-solving and helping people and sees herself as a fixer. She started formally practicing law in 2002, focusing solely on domestic or family law for three years, which required a specific mindset. However, she soon realized that this area called for constant mental and emotional demands, which were not sustainable for her in the long run. Therefore, in 2005, she expanded her practice to include residential real estate, allowing her to continue helping people while enjoying a more balanced workload. She is also very involved in her clients’ cases and does not use a paralegal, handling all of the casework independently, which she believes provides her clients with the best possible representation. She prides herself on being client-oriented and focused on giving quality work.

In advising aspiring professionals, Ms. Collier says hard work and diligence are the cornerstone of everything, in addition to patience and a strong work ethic. She underscores that you have to be able to sell yourself to a client to get the client to hire you, so learning good communication skills and how to explain complicated issues to clients in a way where they can make an informed decision is critical. In the coming years, she aspires to expand her individual Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy practice and real estate closing work, as she is passionate about these avenues of law.
