Currently serving as the general counsel and corporate secretary at EG LNG since 2024, Mr. Izquierdo previously held positions at Equinor ASA, including legal counsel international and local compliance officer from 2020 to 2024, compliance officer, legal manager for Mexico from 2018 to 2020, and senior legal counsel from 2017 to 2018. Prior to his tenure at Equinor ASA, he held roles at Petrozuata and served as a legal associate at Anzola Raffali & Rodriguez.
Mr. Izquierdo attributes his professional achievements to his linguistic proficiency and extensive experience living in various locations, fostering a multi-dimensional perspective essential for navigating complex legal landscapes across different jurisdictions. Born and raised in Venezuela, his immersion in the country’s oil and gas industry from a young age sparked his interest in pursuing a career in international law. His mentor, a legal counsel in the field, played a pivotal role in shaping his aspirations, instilling in him a passion for the intricacies of global business transactions.
