Desiring to help people for a living, Mr. Jones was further influenced by his father, who was also an attorney. Attending Lenoir-Rhyne University, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1983. Thereafter, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from West Virginia University in 1986. Admitted to practice law in West Virginia and North Carolina, he has also been admitted before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. Commencing his career as an associate with Hunt & Wilson in 1986, a role he held for eight years, he subsequently became partner at Kessler & Jones from 1994 to 2000 and served in private practice for the following 16 years. Since 2016, he has been an attorney with Farmer, Cline & Campbell, PLLC, where he practices law in matters of personal injury, automobile accidents and wrongful death. He also does trial work.
The author of the best-selling book “Protect and Defend” in 2012, Mr. Jones also penned “The West Virginia Automobile and Accident Injury Guide” in 2014. In addition, he remains involved with the national internet radio show Money for Lunch, where he discusses issues in relation to injured victims and insurance companies. In an effort to remain abreast of developments in the industry, he served as former president of the West Virginia Association for Justice, who named him Member of the Year in 1999. Likewise, he was the editor of the association’s magazine titled The Advocate and the past president of the Lenoir-Rhyne Alumni Association, who awarded him the Moretz Alumni Award for Service in 2006.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Jones was named among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in West Virginia, Top 10 Personal Injury Attorneys in West Virginia, and Top 10 Lawyers in West Virginia for Client Satisfaction. Likewise, USA Today named him one of Emerging Business Leaders to Watch in 2012, and he was elected a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an association that recognizes lawyers who have earned a million dollar verdict or settlement. He was also highlighted in the third edition of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America and the sixth edition of Who’s Who in American Law.
