Working out of the Phoenix, Arizona, office, Ms. Merdinger focuses her practice on complex commercial real estate transactions. She is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of transactions, maintaining consistent communication with clients, and guiding them through complex negotiations related to purchases, leasing and other real estate matters. She also engages with opposing counsel to secure favorable agreements, mentors junior associates and contributes to the firm’s collaborative environment. Additionally, Ms. Merdinger participates in the firm’s young mothers’ group, which holds personal significance for her.
Before joining Polsinelli, Ms. Merdinger was an attorney at Snell & Wilmer LLP from 2017 to 2026, where she developed her expertise in real estate law and focused on leasing arrangements, financing transactions, brokerage, licensing and property management issues. Ms. Merdinger’s work in the real estate investment trust sector was instrumental in solidifying her reputation as an expert in these areas.
Before passing the bar, Ms. Merdinger worked as a closing coordinator and paralegal at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP from 2014 to 2015. In this position, she gained valuable experience coordinating closings and supporting attorneys on transactional matters. Before pivoting into the law sector, Ms. Merdinger worked for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York between 2012 and 2014 as a development executive, contributing to fundraising initiatives and supporting the organization’s mission-driven programs.
Ms. Merdinger’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in global studies from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island, earned in 2012, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, received in 2018. Additionally, she completed an intensive French language course at Accent Français in France in 2010. Ms. Merdinger was admitted to practice by the Arizona Bar Association and the Supreme Court of Arizona.
Beyond her work-related endeavors, Ms. Merdinger’s commitment to service is evident through her civic involvement. She serves on the young alum leadership committee at Providence College and previously served as the board chair for employment services at St. Joseph the Worker in Arizona from 2020 to 2022. She also volunteered her time at a local food bank. Ms. Merdinger’s dedication to community service is rooted in her upbringing and education at a Catholic institution.
Throughout her career, Ms. Merdinger has demonstrated expertise across real estate law and related sectors while maintaining a strong commitment to mentorship and community engagement. Her professional achievements have been recognized by several organizations, beginning in 2022 with the Arizona Bar Foundation’s Top Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award for her significant work on behalf of a juvenile seeking asylum from Guatemala. Ms. Merdinger has since been recognized by Phoenix Magazine as a Top Lawyer in 2024, by Best Lawyers in America among the Ones to Watch every year since 2024, and by Southwest Super Lawyers as a Rising Star of the Year in 2025.
