Mr. Baskerville currently serves as a partner and litigation expert at Fox Rothschild, a role he has held since 2025. In this capacity, he provides comprehensive legal services, representing clients in complex commercial litigation, white-collar criminal investigations, government contracting matters, and construction disputes across multiple states. Mr. Baskerville is also tasked with overseeing both associates and staff, while managing client relationships and continuously growing the firm’s platform. In addition to litigating in the courtroom, he serves as an outside general counsel for numerous small businesses and startups.
Before joining Fox Rothschild, Mr. Baskerville was the managing partner at Fortis Law Partners LLC from 2017 to 2025. During his tenure, he led the firm through significant growth and managed complex litigation matters. Among his most notable achievements was his work on a high-profile partnership dispute involving a buyout agreement. When the opposing partner ceased payments and transferred assets, Mr. Baskerville filed suit on behalf of his client. Despite facing three opposing law firms and delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, he and a colleague presented their case in a two-and-a-half-week trial, resulting in the judge awarding a nine-figure settlement to his client.
From 2015 to 2017, Mr. Baskerville served as of counsel at Armstrong Teasdale LLP, one of the 200 largest law firms in the U.S., where he provided strategic legal guidance in complex litigation matters and contributed to the firm’s reputation for excellence in trial advocacy. He also excelled as an associate at Stetler, Duffy & Rotert Ltd. between 2008 and 2015 and at the Law Offices of Daniel Lynch from 2006 to 2008. Mr. Baskerville began his professional journey as a lawyer and law clerk with the City of Chicago Law Department in 2004.
In preparation for his legal career, Mr. Baskerville acquired a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, cum laude, from Boston College in Chestnut Hill in 2001 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from Loyola University in Chicago in 2005. He was admitted to practice by the Illinois, Colorado and Wyoming Bar Associations, as well as numerous federal bars. Initially intending to major in political science in preparation for law school, Mr. Baskerville was encouraged by a professor to pursue philosophy after demonstrating an aptitude for understanding complex ideas. This decision proved instrumental in shaping his analytical abilities and success as a litigator.
Mr. Baskerville has been an active member of the Colorado Bar Association since 2015 and became recognized as a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America in 2024. Beyond his professional engagement, he has demonstrated civic commitment through various leadership roles. Since 2025, Mr. Baskerville has served as a member of the executive committee of the board of directors of the Parent Teacher Organization at The French American School of Denver. He was previously involved with the advancement committee of the board of directors at The International School of Denver from 2016 to 2020 and served as a board member for Mile High Youth Corps between 2015 and 2018.
Mr. Baskerville’s professional excellence has been recognized with numerous awards, including Top 40 Attorneys Under 40 in Illinois by National Trial Lawyers in 2014, Best Lawyers in America: White Collar Criminal Defense in 2017, Rising Stars by Colorado Super Lawyers every year since 2017, ongoing recognition by Best Lawyers in America since 2017, and Super Lawyers since 2017. Additionally, he has received an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell and Lead Counsel Verification.
Throughout his career, Mr. Baskerville has been recognized for his commitment to clear communication in the courtroom. Early experiences taught him the importance of making arguments accessible to juries, a lesson that continues to inform his approach to trial law. Mr. Baskerville remains dedicated to helping individuals resolve business disputes, particularly those involving failed mergers or partnerships, by providing negotiation support and expanding his network within the legal community.
