With more than 25 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Vasselli has found much success as the founding partner of Vasselli Law in Oak Brook, Illinois, a position he has held since 2024. He has established himself as an expert in municipal law, commercial real estate, land use, labor and employment, public finance, general advice, corporate matters, business, and real estate advice. His present post involves handling numerous phone calls, replying to emails, attending meetings, and advising mayors and appointed officials on managing risk and diversifying revenue streams. Prior to founding his own firm, Mr. Vasselli excelled as a senior partner at Del Galdo Law Group LLC in Berwyn, Illinois from 2005 to 2022 and at Ottosen DiNolfo Hasenbalg & Castaldo Ltd. in Naperville, Illinois from 2022 to 2024.
Mr. Vasselli began his career as a legal assistant and staff attorney with the Illinois Office of Comptroller in Chicago, Illinois from 1999 to 2001. Briefly recruited as the assistant attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in 2001, he later practiced as an attorney-at-law with Onesto, Meltreger & Associates in Chicago between 2001 and 2003. From 2003 to 2005, He served as an attorney-at-law with Maurides Foley Tabangay & Turner LLC in Chicago. Over the years, Mr. Vasselli has demonstrated exceptional skill in handling appellate cases, jury trials, bench trials, real estate closings, development deals, property acquisitions, and covering village and city board meetings.
In addition to his primary accomplishments, Mr. Vasselli is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association. He is likewise involved in civic organizations such as BVL Boxing Solutions, where he has worked as a legal counselor since 2024. He has likewise contributed to the Franciscan Resource Center. These affiliations reflect Mr. Vasselli’s commitment to community service and personal growth.
Mr. Vasselli’s dedication to the legal field has been recognized with accolades such as being named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2012. He was additionally honored by the Order of the Sisters of St. Francis the same year. Moreover, one of his real estate projects was celebrated with the Excellence in Tax Increment Finance Award by the Council of Development Finance Agencies. Taking great pride in successfully winning appellate cases, motions, trials, and real estate matters, Mr. Vasselli attributes his success to his great mentors.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Vasselli pursued an education at Drake University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and political science, cum laude, in 1996. He subsequently continued his studies at DePaul University, where he obtained a Master of Business Administration and a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2000. Mr. Vasselli is currently building upon his versatile skill set at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he aims to graduate with a Master of Science in finance and financial management services and a Master of Laws in financial services.
A native of Chicago, Mr. Vasselli enjoys dedicating his time to his six-year-old son Jacob. Furthermore, he has previously engaged in boxing. Looking toward the future, Mr. Vasselli aims to become a better father while advancing his law firm beyond its early stages to ensure its continued evolution for the benefit of both the firm and its clients.
