Mr. Gotlieb is a seasoned attorney whose career has spanned over 40 years. Since 2022, he has been a partner at Greenspoon Marder LLP in South Florida, overseeing the firm’s international wealth and asset planning and wills, trusts and estates practice groups. As an expert in international tax, domestic tax, and transfer wealth, he focuses his practice on international estate planning, international estate tax law, domestic estate planning, estate administration and pre-immigration tax planning. Furthermore, Mr. Gotlieb is well-versed in counseling clients in cross-border matters.

Beginning his career in 1981, Mr. Gotlieb worked for the Embassy of Israel as an assistant to the economic minister in Washington, D.C. In 1982, he became a litigation attorney for the General Services Administration, an independent agency of the United States government. Shortly thereafter, he was acquired by Finley, Kumble, Wagner, Heine, Underberg, Manley and Casey as a government contract attorney from 1983 to 1984. Over the next decade, Mr. Gotlieb held various progressive roles with private firms and for Immigration and Naturalization Services. He also worked for Smith Barney and American Express (now Standard Chartered Bank).

In 1994, Mr. Gotlieb was at the helm of Gotlieb & Associates PA, where he remained until 2014. He spent over five years in Miami, specializing in international estate tax and estate planning matters. He also served as a partner at Arnstein & Lehr LLP in South Florida between 2014 and 2015 and as a partner at GrayRobinson PA from 2014 to 2022, also in South Florida, before being recruited by Greenspoon Marder LLP.

Besides his dedication to clients, Mr. Gotlieb has drawn significant success and satisfaction from his role as an adjunct professor in the Master of Laws tax program at the University of Miami since 2018. He genuinely enjoys giving back to the next generation of legal professionals.

In preparation for his legal career, Mr. Gotlieb received a Bachelor of Arts in education from Touro University, followed by a Master of Laws in international and labor law from Georgetown University in 1982 and a second Master of Laws in taxation on campus in 1989. He also received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis. Mr. Gotlieb was admitted to practice by the Florida, Washington, D.C., and Tennessee Bar Associations.

Mr. Gotlieb is a member of several industry-related organizations, such as the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He also chairs the grievance committee for section 11E of the Florida Bar Association.

Adding to his credentials, Mr. Gotlieb has been published in several professional publications, including Abasto Magazine and the Daily Business Review, on various legal topics. He also co-authored “Inside the Minds: Estate Planning Client Strategies” via Aspatore Law Books in 2014.

Highlighting her career achievements, Mr. Gotlieb was named among the Legal Elite in Florida Trend in 2021. He was also featured in Best Lawyers in America for Tax Law in 2025. He credits much of his success to his work ethic. He is also bilingual, which has contributed significantly to his success. In the coming years, Mr. Gotlieb intends to continue his practice while positively impacting his clients’ lives.
