Brandy Buck, assistant general counsel at Kinder Morgan, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in legal services.

With a decade and a half of experience to her credit, Ms. Buck has dedicated herself to the field of law and legal services, specializing in commercial contract negotiation, procurement support, and construction law. She currently excels as assistant general counsel at Kinder Morgan, a role she has held since 2024. In addition, she serves as a board member of the finance committee for the Women’s Center of Montgomery County and is a member of the Texas Bar Association. Her other roles in law have included lead counsel at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC from 2022 to 2024, senior attorney at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC from 2014 to 2022, attorney at Vantage Drilling International from 2012 to 2014, Andrews Kurth LLP from 2011 to 2012, at Vinson & Elkins LLP from 2007 to 2011. She also gained experience as a summer associate at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP in 2006 and Franklin Lakes in 2005. Laying a solid foundation for her success, she pursued an education at The University of Texas at Austin, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Plan ll and history, followed by a Juris Doctor from the New York University School of Law in 2007. 

Reflecting on her career, Ms. Buck credits her love of history for drawing her to the field of law, as she was driven by a desire to understand how historical events influenced legal changes and why people adhered to laws. She attributes her success to persistent effort and a continuous willingness to learn and believes that being open to change and flexible enough to switch industries or job types is essential for personal growth. Looking ahead, she aims to develop a deeper understanding of the oil and gas industry, which she recently joined. Her primary focus is to deliver value to her clients, secure their assets from a contractual standpoint, and enhance her professional growth and knowledge. In advising future professionals, she stresses the importance of prioritizing work-life balance and managing mental health to stay focused, productive, and happy in both areas.
