He garnered a stellar reputation as president of McGurn & Associates, Ltd in 1998, and subsequently as general counsel of Montalbano Builders, Inc. from 1998 to 2009.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. McGurn pursued an education at Arizona State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science, with distinction, in political science and government in 1975. He concluded his studies at the Northern Illinois University College of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in law in 1978. He has been a licensed attorney for 44 years.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. McGurn remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of the Illinois Department of Transportation Citizens Advisory Committee, Delta Theta Phi, Phi Sigma Alpha, and the National Political Science Honor Society. He sat on the board of directors for the Home Builders Association of Illinois, the Home Builders of Greater Facts Valley, the Northern Illinois Home Builders Association, and the Joseph Corporation.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. McGurn has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was a recipient of the Builder of the Year award from the Northern Illinois Home Builders Association over multiple years. He attributes his success to his family, particularly his wife’s support as well as that of his father, who was a third-generation lawyer.
