Ms. Kiffin Lewis has established a distinguished legal career, marked by her expertise as a mediator and arbitrator, employment attorney, and conflict management and negotiation expert. As the founder of Valerie Kiffin Lewis PA, established in 1996, she has provided legal consultations on employment-related matters and advocated for clients at the administrative and court levels. Counseling public and private entities and individual employees, Ms. Kiffin Lewis’s firm also specializes in representing clients in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claims and lawsuits alleging violations of federal and state labor laws, as well as employment and civil rights statutes.
The same year she established her law firm, Ms. Kiffin Lewis began serving as a mediator for The 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida in Broward County, Florida. As such, she is tasked with mediating disputes involving employment, landlord/tenant, real estate, personal injury and breach of contract issues. In 1999, Ms. Kiffin Lewis also became a contract mediator for the U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission, where she has assisted in resolving employment discrimination disputes. Adding to her credentials, she became an arbitrator for The 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida in 2004.
In 2000, Ms. Kiffin Lewis founded The Resolution Group, serving as the firm’s president. This mediation and arbitration company is dedicated to helping parties resolve disputes by reaching mutually acceptable solutions, even in seemingly impossible situations. The company’s slogan, “Where Settlements Happen,” reflects its commitment to effective conflict resolution.
Ms. Kiffin Lewis’s career began as a U.S. Postal Service (USPS) distribution clerk from 1983 to 1984. She became an equal employment opportunity counselor in 1984 and an equal employment opportunity investigator for the government organization between 1986 and 1987. Ms. Kiffin Lewis’s dedication to labor relations was further demonstrated during her tenure as a labor relations assistant with the USPS from 1990 to 1991. Her legal journey continued with her position as a judicial staff attorney at The 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida between 1991 and 1992 and later as an associate counsel at Sparkman Robb between 1993 and 1996.
Ms. Kiffin Lewis’s academic achievements have significantly impacted her success. She earned a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University in 1978 before pursuing her passion for law at the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University, where she obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1989. While in law school, she served as a legal research assistant and board editor for the Moot Court Society. Ms. Kiffin Lewis’s academic excellence was notably recognized through several scholarships, including the Earl Warren Scholarship and the Krekstein Scholarship.
Active in her professional community, Ms. Kiffin Lewis holds memberships in several professional organizations, such as the Florida Bar Association, where she has served as the chair of the grievance committee and mediator for the ACAP Program. She is also involved with Business Network International BNI Global LLC, the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and the American Arbitration Association.
Ms. Kiffin Lewis’s contributions extend beyond her professional endeavors into civic engagement. She has been actively involved with the mediator’s qualification board at the Florida Dispute Resolution Center for two decades and serves as the board chair for Deliver the Dream.
Recognizing her dedication to the legal field, Ms. Kiffin Lewis received several accolades, including being named Mediator of the Year in 2024 and 2025 and Lawyer of Distinction in 2025. She attributes much of her success to her parents’ determination and discipline. Looking ahead, Ms. Kiffin Lewis plans to continue growing her business. He also intends to pen her first book.
