Lawrence Robert Kulig, JD, attorney and member at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in legal services.

With nearly four decades of experience, Mr. Kulig has established a successful career in legal services, specializing as an attorney, partner, and judge. He currently excels as a member and attorney at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott LLC, a position he has held since 2009. His experience includes serving as senior counsel at Holland & Knight LLP from 2003 to 2009 and progressing from associate attorney to partner at Goldstein & Manello Inc. from 1985 to 2003. He has dedicated his time to the board of directors at Generation Citizen since 2017 and has been a charter member and chair of the board of trustees for the Advancement and Development Committees at Pope Francis Preparatory School since 2016. Additionally, he has served as a coach for Charlestown High School with the Boston Scholar-Athletes Foundation from 2002 and has held various roles, including former trustee of the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC, former alumni board member for Lafayette College and Villanova University, and contributor to the Villanova Law Review at Villanova University.

Additionally, Mr. Kulig has served as an arbitrator for commercial disputes with the American Arbitration Association since 2018. He was president of the New England Chapter of the Villanova Law Alumni Association from 2008 to 2011 and is a member of the State Bar Association. He is a founding member of the Boston Chapter of the Villanova Business Society, a member of the President’s Club at Villanova University, and serves on the Leadership Board of the Boston Chapter of the Lafayette College Alumni Association. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has been named to Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation in 2023 and 2024, received the Alumni Award for Public Service from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law in 2017, and has been recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer. He holds an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and was a champion runner at Charlestown High School. Reflecting on his path, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government from Lafayette College in 1981 and a Juris Doctor from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, cum laude, in 1984.

Mr. Kulig takes pride in the long-standing relationships he has built with his clients, many of whom have been with him for decades, demonstrating their comfort and trust in him as their lawyer. Reflecting on his career, he has realized the value of settling disputes, noting that litigation is costly and seldom results in genuine satisfaction for the parties involved; ultimately, his goal is to facilitate settlements that allow both sides to part ways amicably. Looking to the future, as he approaches retirement from his legal career at age 68, he plans to gradually reduce his workload and seek new avenues for impactful engagement. With his term as chairman of the board at Pope Francis Preparatory School nearing completion, he intends to continue his involvement in the nonprofit sector and explore opportunities to serve on various other boards.
