A distinguished figure in Rhode Island’s legal landscape for more than 15 years, Dr. Forte began his career with Olenn & Penza, LLP as an attorney from 2008 to 2018 and a partner from 2018 to 2021. During this time, he was additionally active as legal counsel for the Senate Committee on Rules, Government Ethics and Oversight for the State of Rhode Island from 2017 to 2020 and an associate judge with Cranston Municipal Court from 2019 to 2021. She currently excels as legal counsel for the Senate Committee on Finance for the State of Rhode Island, a senior associate judge for Cranston Municipal Court, a municipal court judge for the Town of Tiverton, Rhode Island, and a partner with Lonardo Forte and Trudeau LLP. Dr. Forte has likewise served as an assistant professor of accounting and business law at Nichols College since 2021 and an adjunct faculty member at Roger Williams University since 2012.
Before embarking upon his professional path, Dr. Forte graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor of Science in accountancy in 2004. He continued his academic efforts with a Doctor of Jurisprudence and a Master of Business Administration in taxation at Suffolk University Law School in 2008. Dr. Forte concluded his academic efforts at the University of Rhode Island in 2023, at which point he earned a Doctor of Business Administration.
Born and raised in Rhode Island, Dr. Forte has attributed his success to the power of familial support and his innate passion for the legal profession. Notably selected for inclusion among Rhode Island Super Lawyers and Super Lawyers Rising Stars, he was also highlighted in the Top 40 Under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers. Amongst his many accomplishments, he fondly recalls his contributions to resolving complex pension cases involving public employees across Rhode Island, leading to a fair and equitable settlement proposal accepted by retirees, political leaders, and the judiciary. Looking toward the future, Dr. Forte’s hopes to balance his professional pursuits and familial responsibilities while participating on the board of directors for a reputable company and shaping the next generation of legal scholars and practitioners.
