Prior to this position, he served as special counsel in the division of corporate finance for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission between 1998 and 2005. To best support his ambitions, he pursued an education at The George Washington University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1985 before graduating from their School of Business with a Master of Business Administration in finance and investments in 1988. Mr. Babits concluded his studies at George Mason University in 1991, obtaining a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Antonin Scalia Law School.
As a testament to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Babits was previously honored with the Capital Market Award from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He attributes his success to his supportive family, an excellent and dedicated mentor, and his stellar academic achievements. Among the many highlights of his career, he is incredibly proud of the rules he established with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which they still enforce to this day, as well as his involvement in internet interpretive releases and legal accounting issues. Looking toward the future, Mr. Babits hopes to run for Congress as a Republican in Florida in 2024 while remaining active in his present endeavors.
