James B. DePetris, Attorney at Law at DePetris National Closing Services PC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in property, probate, corporate and real estate law.
With more than 40 years of experience to his credit, Mr. DePetris has excelled as an attorney-at-law with DePetris National Closing Services PC since 1979. In this position, he focuses on commercial and residential real estate law, construction law, corporate law, probate and trust law and property laws. Furthermore, he has been admitted to practice law by both the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas throughout his career. Mr. DePetris had also previously found success as the president of the Providence Title Company, which had been the biggest real estate company in Texas.
In addition to his career with DePetris National Closing Services, Mr. DePetris had been active as a senior legislative specialist for the Reagan-Bush Administration operating out of Washington, D.C. Having worked at the White House as well as in Congressional campaigns, he has also been recruited to seven different task forces over the course of 35 years, including the National Presidential Task Force for the Homeless. A former contributor to the real estate housing committee for the U.S. House of Representatives, Mr. DePetris has also served as the former vice chairman for Democrats for Reagan, the former co-chairman of the local, state and federal public attorney’s committee for the Dallas Board of Realtors, part of the National Association of Realtors, and both the founder and past chairman of Truman for Equal Representation.
Before embarking on his legal career, Mr. DePetris pursued an education at Saint Mary’s University School of Law, from which he obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He is renowned among his peers for his ability to build partnerships and coalitions, especially during his representation of casino legislation in Texas. Having been involved with the Dallas development of properties for the Magnolia Hotel and Aloft Dallas, among other notable hotels, Mr. DePetris is proud to represent clients from more than 35 countries in their investments and real estate transactions, especially those that aid in the revitalization of downtown Dallas.
Beyond his primary responsibilities within the field, Mr. DePetris has been associated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He has been formerly affiliated with the Dallas City Center Association as a past chairman and the founding chairman. He has also been appointed as the treasurer for a political action committee and a member of the board of directors for the Dallas Mortgage Brokers. Attributing his success to his honesty, he has been presented with various accolades for his stellar professional efforts. In the coming years, Mr. DePetris hopes to continue helping others, possibly join another task force and finish writing his book.
