Since 2021, Mr. Tisdale has found success as an attorney at the Law Offices of Thomas S. Tisdale LLC. In addition to this post, he has been the owner and publisher with Home House Press since 2010. Prior to working for his own firm, he was a lawyer with Hellman Yates and Tisdale from 2013 to 2021 and a partner with Nexsen Pruet from 2004 to 2013. Mr. Tisdale garnered further experience at Young, Clement, Rivers and Tisdale as a partner and founder from 1964 to 2004.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Tisdale attended the University of the South, graduating in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts and sciences and an additional Bachelor of Arts in history. In 1964, he concluded his higher education at the University of South Carolina School of Law, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Mr. Tisdale has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of South Carolina, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.
Alongside his primary posts, Mr. Tisdale has found success through his written works, authoring “Carolina Sunrise” in 2016. He also published “Truth In Cold Blood, A Play in Three Acts” in 2013 and “A Lady of the High Hills: Natalie Delage Sumter” in 2001. Mr. Tisdale has served as the youngest president of the South Carolina State Bar Association and maintains affiliation with numerous professional organizations. He is a member of the Historical Society of the Supreme Court of South Carolina, the Preservation Society of Charleston, the General Society of Colonial Wars, and the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, among further organizations. In the coming years, Mr. Tisdale hopes to continue working for the benefit of his community.
