In 2011, Ms. Filippov Nemeth founded Filippov Law Group in Houston, a premier law practice that provides outside corporate counsel services to solve complex legal matters and streamline business operations, handling a wide variety of corporate, regulatory and strategic issues and create legal and business solutions that help organizations fulfill their financial goals. The firm fosters relationships and efficiently resolve complex matters surrounding business development, acquisition, operation and management of technology, real estate, construction, engineering, manufacturing and oil and gas projects.
Following obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1996 from the University of Houston, Ms. Filippov Nemeth continued her education with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1999 from the South Texas College of Law. She is a member of the state bar of Texas and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court in the Southern District of Texas. Ms. Filippov Nemeth provided superior service from 2002 to 2004 as counsel with Golden & Owens, LLP and from 2004 to 2009 with Shepherd Scott Clawater & Houston, LLP (formerly Cruse, Scott, Henderson & Allen) and then served as general counsel with Production Partners, LLC from 2009 to 2011.
In addition to her service with Filippov Law Group, Ms. Filippov Nemeth has excelled since 2011 as general and corporate counsel with PetroQuip Energy Services, LLC; Mechanical Testing Services, LLC; Construction Sciences; T2 Utility Engineers; and PPI Quality & Engineering, during which she excelled in the oversight of complex business transactions, negotiation of critical contracts, negotiation of legal disputes and management, acquisition and legal integration of global mergers, divestitures and joint ventures.
Among Ms. Filippov Nemeth’s numerous honors are a Martindale-Hubbell AV-Preeminent Peer Review Rating, the highest possible, from Thomson Reuters Corporation and placement in Top Lawyers by Houstonia Magazine. Her professional memberships include the Houston Bar Association and the American Bar Association (Corporate Counsel Section).
Ms. Filippov Nemeth genuinely cares about helping people, dedicating herself to her clients and ensuring that they are satisfied. Her stellar social skills have made people very comfortable with trusting her and appreciating her creative solutions to their legal entanglements. She describes her journey to the legal world as a the result of a trial and error process. Fascinated with art when she was growing up, she went to art school in her native Russia and wanted to be an architect. Consulting with a few architects, including her father, dissuaded from her plan by telling her that it was very difficult to succeed as a female architect in the Soviet Union. Upon moving to the United States at the age of 17 she turned her attention to the legal profession.
Working as a general counsel for a group of United States based companies since 2013 has been the greatest sources of professional fulfillment for Ms. Filippov Nemeth. She is pleased with her efforts to help them go through various stages of progress and transitions including being transformed from public companies into private ones. In the coming years, Ms. Filippov Nemeth sees herself expanding her firm and creating a side business that would allow her to help women succeed, which would probably involve coaching services, a website or a platform that would allow them to reach heights of accomplishments on their own. She has developed a passion for them after seeing many women struggle, especially single mothers who often find themselves without sufficient support.
Moreover, Ms. Filippov Nemeth is a nationally ranked épée fencer. Her goal is to make the world team for veteran fencers.
