After initially obtaining Bachelors of Arts in sociology and psychology from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Ms. Muscato continued her education with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2014 from the University of Wyoming College of Law in Laramie. After serving as a legal intern in 2009 with Rapp, Manzer & Wiest, LLP in Greeley, she worked as an intern with A Woman’s Place, a domestic violence shelter in Greeley, providing safety planning and resources for women. Ms. Muscato was exemplary as an investigator from 2010 to 2011 in the office of the Colorado State Public Defender.
From 2013 to 2014, Ms. Muscato made an impact as an archeologist and field photographer with the Villa del Vergigno Archaeological Project in Italy, an assistant house manager with a residential treatment facility for at-risk youth, and a student attorney for the University of Wyoming College of Law Family and Child Legal Advocacy Clinic in Laramie.
Ms. Muscato began her formal law career in 2015, practicing criminal defense law on a contract basis in Fort Collins, Colorado, representing clients in criminal defense cases. She then excelled as an estate planning attorney in Greeley, representing clients in their estate planning cases including will drafting, powers of attorney, advanced medical directives, and other estate planning legal advice. She then practiced family law with James & Associates, LLC from 2016 to 2017. An avid photographer, Ms. Muscato founded KMM Photography in 2015, offering wedding, family, senior and maternity portraiture.
Child welfare and family work led Ms. Muscato to a career in law. She was confident that her personality and skill set would make her a competent lawyer, but it was her passion for helping families and children that made her realize that law would be the best place for her to make a contribution to society. Winning a father’s rights case to help fathers reunite with their children is what Ms. Muscato finds the most rewarding about her profession. In coming years, she is considering expanding and hiring an associate for her firm.
