Michael Glenn, Attorney, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in trial law.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Glenn completed coursework at Clemson College in 1960. He continued his academic pursuits at Furman University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1962, and concluded his higher education at the University of South Carolina, graduating with an LLB, magna cum laude, in 1965. Following this achievement, Mr. Glenn was admitted to practice law in the state of South Carolina, and worked as an associate of Robert N. Daniel Jr., before starting as an associate at Watkins, Vandiver, Kirven, Long & Gable. In 1970, he transitioned to Fant, Doyle, Glenn & Vaughan, where he acted as a partner until 1972, and subsequently served as an Anderson County judge, a post he held until 1978.
Upon completing his tenure as a county judge, Mr. Glenn returned to legal practice as a partner with McIntosh, Threlkeld, Glenn & Sherard, where he remained for five years. From 1983 to 1992, he worked in private practice, and he has since served as a partner at Glenn, Haigler & Maddox. Since 2018, he operates his own private practice in Anderson, South Carolina. In conjunction with his primary professional pursuits, Mr. Glenn worked as a member of the governor’s committee on criminal justice, crime and delinquency from 1979 to 1981, and as a member of the board on grievances and discipline for the South Carolina Supreme Court from 1984 to 1987. Since 1990, he has contributed as a board bar examiner.
Mr. Glenn is a fellow emeritus of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and maintains memberships to both the Anderson County Bar Association and the Anderson County Young Lawyers Club, serving both organizations as the president. He acted as the director of the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce from 1979 to 1982, and is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association’s board of governors. He attributes his success to his hard work and perseverance, and in the coming years, he plans to relax, spending time golfing and offering legal advice at his church. As a testament to his success and experience, Mr. Glenn has been featured in the 24th edition of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest and multiple editions of Who’s Who in America.
