Named Outstanding Young Lawyer of Galveston County by the American Bar Association in 1989, Ms. James started her career off on the right foot. She first gained an interest in law after spending a college semester in Washington, D.C. Ms. James realized that a law degree was a stepping stone to a world of careers and opportunities, and she decided to pursue a career in the field. She graduated with a JD from the University of Houston Bates College of Law, cum laude, in 1982.
Ms. James has been a practicing attorney for 34 years and has gained extensive experience in banking and real estate. Throughout her career, she has represented individuals and institutional clients on matters such as real estate acquisitions, mortgage loans, bankruptcy, leasing, and collections. In her current role, she continues to work with clients on a variety of matters while also managing the daily operations of the firm.
Ms. James attributes her success to treating clients like friends and putting their needs first, while staying current and on top of changes in the law. She stays current through her affiliations with the Texas State Bar Association, Texas Association of Bank Counsel, and Galveston County Young Lawyers. A knowledgeable and trustworthy lawyer, Ms. James looks to continue growing professionally and assisting her clients with their legal needs for years to come.
