Ms. Weaderhorn’s professional journey began as a summer associate at her firm in 2010. During this formative period, she gained valuable experience that would shape her future contributions. While working toward her law degree, Ms. Weaderhorn also interned with the New York City Administration for Children’s Services, New York City Family Court, from 2011 to 2012. In this capacity, she worked on child protective services and Article 81 cases, developing her skills in mediation and advocacy for vulnerable populations. She also interned with New York City Juvenile Justice in 2011.

In preparation for her future, Ms. Weaderhorn’s academic background included a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and sociology at Queens College in 2008 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence with concentrations in family law, juvenile justice, elder law and estate planning from New York University in 2012. Further enhancing her skills, she obtained a mediation certificate and an advanced matrimonial mediation certificate, as well as a Public Service Certificate from New York University in 2012. Ms. Weaderhorn has been admitted to practice by the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations.

Ms. Weaderhorn’s professional affiliations reflect her commitment to excellence and ongoing development within her field. She is a member of the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists, the Nassau County Bar Association and the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association. She also participates in the family law and young lawyers sections of the New York State Bar Association.

Apart from her work-related endeavors, Ms. Weaderhorn’s civic engagement includes volunteering through her local temple, where she provides pro bono legal services and lectures on Jewish divorce matters.

Recognized for her expertise, Ms. Weaderhorn has contributed to scholarly discourse through publications such as “The Get Law Revisited,” published in the Family Law Review in 2017. The Family Law Review is a publication by the New York State Bar Association.

Ms. Weaderhorn’s professional accomplishments have garnered significant recognition within the legal community. She received distinction as one of the 10 Best Female Attorneys by the American Institute in 2017 and was named among the Top 40 Under 40 by The National Advocates in 2018.

The influence of Ms. Weaderhorn’s family has been instrumental throughout her career. Inspired by her mother, who became a lawyer when she was in elementary school and owns the practice where she works, she developed a passion for law early on. Her mother’s example and mentorship have been central to Ms. Weaderhorn’s professional growth. Entering the legal profession with clarity about her path, she worked various jobs during law school before joining her mother’s practice immediately after graduation.

Throughout her career, Ms. Weaderhorn has remained dedicated to treating clients with respect and honesty while helping them achieve resolution during challenging times. Looking ahead, she intends to expand her writing endeavors and deepen her involvement in counseling peers on complex issues affecting Jewish families, particularly those related to religious divorce. She also welcomes opportunities to speak on these topics through continuing legal education programs. Moreover, Ms. Weaderhorn aims to grow her mediation practice while assuming leadership roles within professional associations, such as bar groups, and increase charitable work.
