As managing partner at Dagner | Schluter | Werber LLC since 2015, she has led a team of senior attorneys with allied practices in civil defense, focusing on the defense of public entities, healthcare providers, paramedics and nursing homes. Her practice also encompasses law enforcement, land use, and employment defense, as well as representing private employers in matters related to paramedics and nursing homes.
In her role as managing partner, Ms. Schluter has developed a highly effective system for managing litigation deadlines, ensuring that all required timelines are met. She is responsible for responding to filed complaints through answers or motions, aggressively gathering information at the outset of each case to refine litigation strategy. As cases progress, Ms. Schluter pursues discovery by requesting depositions, issuing written questions, responding to opposing counsel’s requests and preparing motions to dismiss or for summary judgment. Trial preparation is a critical aspect of her work. Additionally, Ms. Schluter manages administrative responsibilities, including filing complaints and overseeing billing and insurance necessary for the firm’s operations.

Initially establishing a professional corporation in 2001 with the founding of Schluter & Associates, P.C. in Greenwood Village, Ms. Schluter united senior attorneys with complementary practices in civil defense. The firm later became a member of Dagner | Schluter | Mitzner | Werber LLC in 2015.
Ms. Schluter’s academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in international relations, with honors, from Mary Washington College (now Mary Washington University) in 1979 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Denver in 1982. She was admitted to the Colorado Bar Association in 1982.
Ms. Schluter is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, the Colorado Bar Association, the Arapahoe County Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute. Beyond her professional pursuits, she has demonstrated a civic commitment, having formerly served as a city council member for District 2 in Greenwood Village. Ms. Schluter also chaired the CCHS Band Parents Association and served on both the board of Adjustments and as a board member for Greenwood Village.
Beyond her primary work endeavors, Ms. Schluter has authored several publications on various topics related to her area of expertise and has also presented at multiple professional conferences. Among her significant achievements is the continuous management of a successful defense practice representing public entities and ensuring success across various facets of litigation.
