Sean Ekhlas, FCIArb, LLM, freelance arbitrator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in international commercial arbitration.
Mr. Ekhlas is a respected attorney and freelance international commercial arbitrator who has been practicing for over a decade. Through his practice, he conducts research and writes materials related to the cases he represents. He is also involved in all the other aspects of his cases while ensuring that disputes for his clients are resolved in a time-efficient and cost-efficient manner. Following his grandfather’s footsteps, who introduced him to alternative dispute resolution, Mr. Ekhlas focuses heavily on remaining neutral, impartial and independent. Over the past decade, he has served as a counsel, co-arbitrator and presiding arbitrator for many cases.
Besides launching his firm, Mr. Ekhlas garnered experience as a case manager at The Barnes Firm Injury Attorneys from 2018 to 2019. In preparation for his future, he received an undergraduate degree in law and distance education at Payame Noor University in 2012, a master’s degree in intellectual property law from Atlantic Technical University College of Law in 2019, and a master’s degree in international commercial law, cum laude, from Georgia State University in 2020. He was admitted to practice by the D.C. and Georgia Bar Associations. Further enhancing his expertise, Mr. Ekhlas has participated in numerous courses offered by the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris and the American Arbitration Association.
Beyond his education, Mr. Ekhlas has remained at the forefront of his career through membership with the Atlanta International Arbitration Society, the London Court of International Arbitration, the State Bar of Georgia, the D.C. Bar Association, and the Washington Bar Association. Among other memberships, he is an elected fellow of the Charter Institute of Arbitrators in London and the North American branch. He has also volunteered with the Atlanta Legal Aid Society as a service provider to low-income families since 2021. In the future, Mr. Ekhlas intends to become more actively involved in arbitration, elevating small practices and businesses and assisting junior arbitrators through mentorship. Additionally, he envisions promoting himself and his work on more significant cases.
