Since 2015, he has served as head of chambers at International Arbitration Chambers New York, where he focuses on commercial arbitration involving conflicts between companies in different jurisdictions, investment arbitration where foreign investors bring claims against host states, and business of sports disputes. His experience also includes serving as principal at International Arbitration Chambers New York from 2014 to 2022, attorney and senior researcher to the chief reporter for international arbitration at The American Law Institute from 2012 to 2014, and adjunct lecturer at Fordham Law School from 2013 to 2014. He also worked as an associate in James H. Carter’s international arbitration group at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP from 2011 to 2013, and in the international arbitration group at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Paris from 2011 to 2012, as well as serving as a clerk at the Federal District Court, Southern District of New York, in 2011 and positions as a summer associate at WilmerHale in 2010 and as an associate at Arsov Natchev Ganeva LLP in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 2005 to 2008.

Mr. Parvanov also dedicated his time to academia as a lecturer in international arbitration at Fordham Law School in 2014. Laying a strong educational foundation, he completed coursework in Russian from 1986 to 1993 and French at Lycee Français from 1993 to 1998. He earned a diplôme de français professionnel juridique from the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris in 1999, a Magister Juris from St. Klement Ohridsky University of Sofia in 2004, and a Master of Laws in English law of international arbitration and international business law from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2005. He further obtained a Master of Laws from Columbia Law School in 2008 and a Juris Doctor with honors from Columbia Law School in 2011. He is also a licensed lawyer in the European Union.

Mr. Parvanov has also contributed to his field through several notable publications, including “The Dearest Arbitration (The ‘Belene’ Arbitration Proceedings and What They Will Revolve Around)” in 2013, “Comparing U.S. Law and Recent U.S. Investment Agreements: Much More Similar Than You Might Expect” in 2011, and “The Hidden Duality of the Summary Disposition of Claims in Investment Arbitration” in 2011. Additionally, he is an active member of professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Sofia Bar Association, Supreme Bar Council of the Republic of Bulgaria, and the Federal Bar Association, Southern District of New York chapter.

In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Parvanov was honored as coach of the championship team at the International Arbitration Competition in Hong Kong in 2012, received the legal writing competition prize from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, North America, in 2011, and was awarded a scholar award. He attributes his success to the unwavering support of his wife, who encouraged him to pursue professional training in the United States. His legal education at Columbia University, which emphasized analytical reasoning over rote memorization, and his personal experiences have provided a rich perspective on international issues. Looking to the future, he aims to establish a specialized international arbitration practice in the United States, expanding it into a prominent law firm with a collaborative partnership structure. He envisions creating a unique offering to address a significant gap in the market, differentiating his firm from leading international arbitration firms in cities like Paris and London.
