Mr. Sachs is a pioneer in community association law and a founding equity partner at Sachs Sax Caplan Attorneys At Law in Boca Raton, Florida, where he has been making an impact since 1979. Having commenced his legal career with a local law firm in Miami Beach, he quickly pivoted to serve in an entrepreneurial capacity. His prominent firm has spent decades representing clients in matters of community association law, as well as government work, lobbying for private clients and representing government entities. Mr. Sachs presently serves as chair emeritus. However, he still actively practices and assists several clients while mentoring younger attorneys.
Highly educated, Mr. Sachs received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1969 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from Fordham University in 1973. He has been admitted to practice by the Florida and New York Bar Associations, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Additionally, Mr. Sachs is board-certified in condominium and planned development law in Florida. Besides his educational background, he has been active in various industry-related organizations, such as the South Palm Beach County Bar Association, as a member and past president of the Florida Bar. He has also been active civically with organizations closely related to his work, including the Florida Independent Living Board as a state board member and Palm Beach County, Florida, as the chair of its judicial nominating committee. Furthermore, Mr. Sachs has contributed columns in the Florida Bar Manual on Condominiums and the local Jewish Journal.
Mr. Sachs’s prominent career has allowed him to represent some of the most significant condominium communities in South Florida. As such, he has achieved considerable funding for repairs and defects and renegotiated long-term leases. His accomplishments have been recognized as an AV-Rated Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell for 40 Years, with a 50-Year Lawyer Award from The Florida Bar, with inclusion in Florida Super Lawyers numerous times since 2007 with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021 by South Florida Business & Wealth. Eager for future opportunities, Mr. Sachs is preparing to transition into a consultancy role where he can continue helping individuals acquire and maintain real estate.
