Company: Law Office of Edward M. Ferrante
Location: Salem, Massachusetts, United States

Edward M. Ferrante, Esq., attorney in charge at Law Office of Edward M. Ferrante, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in legal services.

Mr. Ferrante has established a successful career in legal services, specializing as an attorney, partner, and judge, with a focus on criminal defense and restraining order violations. He currently excels as the attorney in charge at the Law Office of Edward M. Ferrante, a role he has held since 2019. His experience includes working as a law clerk at D’Ambrosio Brown LLP from 2017 to 2019 and interning at the Law Office of Joseph M. Griffin Jr. and the Massachusetts Sentencing Commission with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2016. A significant part of his responsibilities involves carefully listening to opposing arguments and monitoring courtroom proceedings for procedural errors by the prosecutor. He also dedicates his time to several organizations, including serving as a member of the Boston Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Board and the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Lawyer for the Day program. He has volunteered with Northeast Legal Aid Inc. since 2019, contributed as a volunteer lawyer for both the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association in 2018, and supports Sweet Paws Rescue. Laying a strong educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from Saint Anselm College in 2014 and a Juris Doctor from New England Law Boston in 2017.

Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Ferrante takes great pride in stepping up to the plate despite facing challenging situations. For example, when last-minute text message evidence was presented by the prosecutor, he skillfully provided explanations that secured an acquittal on charges of restraining order violations. In February 2024, he also contributed an article to the Nasbar Association’s winter publication, addressing the challenges new lawyers face when transitioning from law school to the workforce. The article focused on practical aspects often overlooked in academic settings, such as client interactions, and resonated with many readers by shedding light on the day-to-day realities of legal practice. He attributes his success to hard work and seeking guidance from others. Early in his career, he struggled with public speaking and presenting arguments, but with the support of bar advocates and mentors, he made significant improvements. The improvisation skills he developed proved invaluable, allowing him to confidently present on unfamiliar topics and think quickly, especially when speaking in front of a jury.

In the coming years, as a new attorney, Mr. Ferrante is eager to take on more challenging cases, leveraging the knowledge gained from his legal training and experience in the district. Embracing these new challenges will provide him with valuable opportunities for learning and growth. He is currently seeking a position on the superior court panel, where he can handle more complex cases and assist a broader range of clients. Recognizing the urgent need for additional support on the superior court panel, he committed to developing the expertise necessary to handle these cases effectively and make a meaningful impact.
