Ms. Hanson is an active member of the legal community, holding roles such as executive chair of the Washington College of Law Animal Law Society from 2020 to 2021 and memberships in the American Association for Justice and the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association. She also volunteered her time as an assistant director for the Kids Club at Grand Targhee from 2016 to 2018, a camp counselor at Grand Targhee Resort from 2015 to 2018, and a campus tour guide at the University of Idaho from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, she served as a Martin-McClure student ambassador for the Martin Institute and McClure Foundation in 2015, a board member for the Institute for Community Partnerships and Sustainable Development, and a volunteer for a local domestic violence hotline. She also served as the symposium editor for the Washington College of Law’s Sustainable Development Law and Policy Brief from 2020 to 2021.
Ms. Hanson laid a strong educational foundation, earning a master’s degree in international affairs from American University’s School of International Service in 2023 and a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law in 2021. During her studies, she interned at Perkins Coie LLP and the Western Urban Water Coalition in 2020. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies and French from the University of Idaho, where she also served as a development assistant and Translator in 2016. She is also admitted to the bar in Idaho, Wyoming, and Oregon. In light of her impressive undertakings, she earned a Merit Scholarship from the American University Washington College of Law, a Dean’s Commendation from the University of Idaho, and was named Sophomore of the Year at the University of Idaho. Reflecting on her path, she pursued a career in law driven by her concern for the events she witnessed in the news and the challenges faced by those around her. She believed that with further education, she could use her privilege to make a positive impact on society. Her passion for continuous learning also fueled her decision, as she saw the field of law as an ideal avenue for both personal and professional growth, and she takes great pride in being the first woman in her county in Idaho to earn a law degree.
Ms. Hanson attributes her success to the incredible community of supportive women around her, including her family. She says her strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to her goals have also been crucial to her achievements. She considers herself fortunate to have such a supportive network, which has been instrumental in her progress within the legal field. In the coming years, she aims to become proficient in handling her own cases and securing significant victories. She is determined to attain a partnership position within a law firm, allowing her to shape her career. Additionally, she is focused on achieving a healthy work-life balance and making a lasting, positive impact on those around her.
