She subsequently concluded her academic efforts at Boston College Law School, from which she graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1992. Soon thereafter, she began her career as a legal associate at Civerolo Gralow Hill, PA, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from 1992 to 1995. She was subsequently active with the Narvaez Law Firm, PA, in Albuquerque, advancing to the position of shareholder between 1995 and 2012. During this time, Ms. Werkmeister contributed to the City of Albuquerque as an arbitrator and hearing officer from 2000 to 2003.
Since 2012, Ms. Werkmeister has excelled as an attorney operating out of her eponymous private practice, The Law Offices of H. Nicole Werkmeister, LLC, where she focuses on civil rights, employment law, professional liability defense, trial preparation, alternative dispute resolution, and representing both public entities and officials. As a testament to her stellar endeavors, she has accrued a number of outstanding accolades, including the Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award from the New Mexico State Bar, the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Albuquerque Jewish Community Center, the Outstanding Program Award for Today’s Law School Program from the New Mexico State Bar, and the Outstanding Service Award from the New Mexico State Bar, to name a few. Proud of her work in her community as well as her unwavering support of nonprofit organizations in relation to her field, Ms. Werkmeister was likewise recognized as a Fellow of the Center for Civic Values and the First Woman President of the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association.
Ms. Werkmeister has attributed her success to the exceptional effort she has invested into her legal practice, her impressive reputation among her clients and colleagues, and her high-quality of work that she has exhibited over the years. Among her most important accomplishments, she fondly recalls assisting the state of New Mexico in writing an amicus brief for the New Mexico Supreme Court in addition to her successful representation of clients in trials. In the coming years, Ms. Werkmeister hopes to further utilize her expertise to better aid her community, even upon her well-deserved retirement.
