Stafford Hearns and Associates, LLC., between 2014 and 2015, the United States Postal Service between 2015 and 2017, and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers National Pension Fund between 2017 and 2022. Presently, she serves Allstate Corporation as Employee Retirement Income Security Act and benefits counsel, where she has thrived since 2022.
Attributing her success to her parents, who played a crucial role in imparting essential values that have sustained her through favorable and challenging times, Ms. Walker utilized this inspiration to earn a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Howard University in 2005. She obtained a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2009. Ms. Walker takes immense pride in her role as a caregiver for her father, who is coping with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. This responsibility has allowed her to support him in navigating the lifestyle changes and new responsibilities that these conditions entail.
Ms. Walker participates as a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Subcommittee for the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC). She is additionally a member of the District of Columbia and the Maryland State Bar Associations. She invests her time as a volunteer for her church, the Alfred Street Baptist Church. Her advice to the next generation of attorneys is to be a lifelong learner and have good listening skills.
In the coming years, Ms. Walker intends to become a leader in the employee benefits field, and cultivate her expertise, and garner acknowledgment for her contributions to the field. She credits the work she does in the benefits space and the knowledge that she is helping people live better lives as the most rewarding aspect of her job. When she is not working, she dedicates her attention to traveling, cooking, exploring new restaurants, cycling, and enjoying quality time with her friends and family.
