With over five decades of experience in the legal profession, Mr. Stitt’s journey began with a bachelor’s degree from Duke University in 1965, followed by a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University in 1968. His professional journey spans various roles and tenures, commencing as an associate at Coffin and DeRaymond from 1971 to 1973. He then became a junior partner at Coffin, DeRaymond, Shipman, and Stitt from 1973 to 1975.
Mr. Stitt’s career path continued to evolve as he assumed the role of senior partner at the same firm from 1975 to 1987. Later, he held the position of senior partner at Stitt and Cordts from 1987 to 1994. Subsequently, he ventured into private practice from 1994 to 2000. Continuing his legal expertise, he became a partner at Stitt and Narlesky in 2001 and 2002, transitioning back to private practice from 2002 to 2004. Currently, he serves as the chairman of AAA Northampton County, a position he has held since 2004.
A defining phase in his life was his military service as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971, shaping his principles of privacy, preparedness, and doing things right. Throughout his career, he’s championed integrity, hard work, and community service, evidenced by his involvement in organizations like the State Theater, Inc. and as president of the Easton Public Library. Acknowledged for his legal prowess, he received the Silver Key Award from the American Bar Association in 1968 and was inducted into the Lehigh Valley Golf Hall of Fame.
Besides his legal practice, Mr. Stitt engaged in diverse hobbies, from playing golf and tennis to playing the violin and traveling. His commitment to AAA Northampton County as chairman since 2004 reflects his dedication to community service and future plans to continue his work while potentially training a successor. His motto, “toujours le même,” resonates with his professional ethos, emphasizing preparation, consistency, and the importance of privacy and integrity in the legal arena.
