As an accomplished professional with more than 45 years of experience, Mr. Rashid has excelled as a partner and patent attorney with Zarka IP Law since 2007. Prior to this role, he was a partner at Warn, Hoffmann, Miller & LaLone PC from 2006 to 2007, a partner at Honigman, Miller, Schwartz and Cohn LLP from 2004 to 2006 and a partner at Rader, Fishman & Grauer from 2000 to 2004. Mr. Rashid worked as an associate with MacMillan Sobanski & Todd from 1998 to 2000 and was an associate with Brinks Hofer Gilson and Lione from 1996 to 1997.
From 1993 to 1995, Mr. Rashid worked for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a patent examiner, after which he garnered experience as an associate at Oliff & Berridge from 1995 to 1996. With a background in engineering, he began his career as a general engineer, nuclear engineer and nuclear consultant. From 1984 to 1988, Mr. Rashid contributed as a senior nuclear engineer with Studsvik of America, and from 1988 to 1993, he held the same role with the Detroit Edison Company.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Rashid attended the University of Arizona and obtained a Bachelor of Science in nuclear engineering in 1974. In 1979, he graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master of Science in nuclear engineering, after which he matriculated at The University of Toledo College of Law. Mr. Rashid concluded his higher education at the institution in 1992, when he earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence.
Eminently qualified, Mr. Rashid is admitted to practice law by the Michigan Bar. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and was a registered professional engineer in Arizona. To keep abreast of his field, he maintains affiliation with the American Intellectual Property Law Association. In his spare time, Mr. Rashid enjoys pickleball, music, movies, table tennis, Pilates, yoga, landscape architecture and culinary arts.
