After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1959 from Manhattan College, Mr. Roberts continued his education with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1962 from New York University Law School. He has excelled as an attorney with Covey, Roberts, & Carmody-Roberts LLC since 1967 and as a managing member since 1975, specializing in estate planning and administration, elder law and school law. Mr. Roberts also provides services in real estate and assists those clients who own a family business. Moreover, he has provided superior service as a town judge in Lewisboro in Westchester County for over three decades.
To remain aware of changes and advancements in his field, Mr. Roberts maintains affiliations with the board of directors of the Westchester County Bar Association, where he chairs the grievance committee, as well as the New York Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association. He has served as a certified hearing officer with the New York State Education Department, a volunteer firefighter with the Golden’s Bridge Fire Department and other municipalities in Westchester County for over 25 years and an assistant scoutmaster with Golden’s Bridge Boy Scout troop for over a decade. For his efforts on behalf of his community, Mr. Roberts has been honored with a nomination for Citizen of the Year by the local chamber of commerce.
Mr. Roberts attributes his success to the support and influence of his late wife Linda Carmody-Roberts, who was one of the most accomplished lawyers in New York. In the coming years, he intends to settle into a well-deserved retirement while dedicating more time to his children and grandchildren.
