Since 2021, she has served as the executive vice president, corporate counsel and assistant secretary at The GEO Group, Inc., where she is responsible for reviewing contract proposals and conducting research on legal issues affecting the business at both state and federal levels. Her expertise in navigating complex legal frameworks has been instrumental to the organization’s operations. Among Ms. Crews’s most notable achievements has been her work on a $3 billion stock deal for an electrical company, a testament to her proficiency in high-stakes transactions and her reputation for excellence in the field.
Before joining The GEO Group, Inc., Ms. Crews was a partner at Katz Barron from 2020 to 2021, where she provided strategic legal counsel and contributed to the firm’s growth through her deep knowledge of corporate law. She also represented Greenberg Traurig, LLP, as a project attorney in 2019 and as a practice attorney from 2019 to 2020. In these capacities, Ms. Crews managed significant legal projects and supported clients with complex transactional matters. She initially worked for Greenberg Traurig, LLP, between 2004 and 2006 as an associate attorney.
From 2015 to 2019, Ms. Crews excelled as the senior vice president and deputy general counsel at Carrier & Technology Solutions, LLC. Her role involved overseeing legal compliance and advising on business strategies that aligned with regulatory requirements. Ms. Crews’s earlier experience included serving as an attorney at Nason, Yeager, Gerson, Harris & Fumero, P.A., between 2006 and 2015 and as an attorney at Whisenand & Turner, P.A., from 2003 to 2004. Before entering private practice, she developed expertise in international tax consulting as an international senior tax consultant at KPMG between 2001 and 2003 and at Deloitte from 1999 to 2001. Ms. Crews’s professional journey began as a tax consultant at EY from 1997 to 1998.
Ms. Crews’ academic background has been foundational to her success. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting with a minor in economics and management, cum laude, from the University of Miami in 1994 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, in 1997. She soon after received a Master of Laws in taxation from Georgetown Law in 1999 and a Master of Business Administration in international business, with highest honors, from the University of Miami in 2000.
Beyond her primary endeavors, Ms. Crews’s commitment to professional development is reflected in her long-standing membership with The Florida Bar since 1997. This affiliation underscores her dedication to maintaining the highest standards of legal practice. Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Crews has demonstrated a strong commitment to civic engagement and community service. She has been an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 2007 and previously held roles with the Junior League of the Palm Beaches and the American Cancer Society, Inc.
