Ms. Chin also addresses administrative and financial matters as needed.

Throughout her tenure at Northwest Family Law, Ms. Chin has had a significant impact on her clients’ lives. She is especially proud of her work assisting individuals in escaping domestic violence situations, helping them achieve safety and financial security to rebuild their lives.

Before founding Northwest Family Law, Ms. Chin served as an attorney at Main Street Law Group from 2011 to 2014. During this period, she also worked as a contract attorney at Integrative Family Law, helping to hone her family law expertise and expand her professional network within the legal community.

Ms. Chin began her legal career as an associate attorney at the Law Offices of Susan Millican O’Brien and Associates (now Alpine Family Law) from 2010 to 2011. This foundational experience provided her with essential skills in client advocacy and case management, setting the stage for her future accomplishments.

Ms. Chin’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in business law from Washington State University in Pullman in 2004 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon in Eugene in 2008. She was soon after admitted to practice by the Washington Bar Association. Ms. Chin’s educational achievements have been instrumental in shaping her approach to legal practice and business management.

Active in her professional community, Ms. Chin’s affiliations include membership in the American Bar Association, Washington Women Lawyers and the Mother Attorney Mentoring Association, among others. She is also a member and past president of the King County Bar Association. These associations have enabled Ms. Chin to remain engaged with developments in family law while contributing to broader conversations within the legal profession.

Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Chin is committed to civic engagement and community service. Since 2010, she has served as an advocate for Family Law CASA, supporting children’s interests in court proceedings. Ms. Chin also contributes to Hopelink through charitable work and provides free legal advice to those in need.

The foundation of Ms. Chin’s career is deeply rooted in personal experience. Having witnessed firsthand the challenges of contentious divorce during her childhood and later supporting her mother through similar difficulties, she developed a profound empathy for those navigating family law issues. Through self-reflection and engagement with family law practitioners, Ms. Chin realized her passion lay in helping others overcome adversity and build better futures for themselves and their children.

Ms. Chin’s professional excellence has been recognized through numerous honors, including being nominated for Mentor of the Year by the King County Bar Association in 2024, receiving Gold for Best in the Northwest in 2025, and earning distinctions from Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers on multiple occasions. She attributes her success to maintaining a clear vision, fearlessness and genuine passion for her work, qualities that continue to define her legacy as both an advocate for families and a leader within the legal community.

Looking ahead, Ms. Chin is dedicated to expanding her firm’s reach while developing mentoring programs for new attorneys entering family law directly after graduation. She remains focused on building her brand as one of the foremost practitioners in family law by emphasizing holistic support for clients throughout all aspects of their lives.
