Before establishing her practice, Ms. Troge began serving as a magistrate for Floyd County in Charles City in 1994, a position she held until 2013. She resumed her role in 2024, demonstrating her enduring commitment to justice and community service.

Among other notable roles, Ms. Troge was a partner at the Sutton & Troge Law Office between 1994 and 1998. Her tenure at the firm followed her initial experience as an associate at Sutton Law Office from 1992 to 1993. These foundational positions provided her with invaluable insights into the legal profession and laid the groundwork for her subsequent achievements as a leading lawyer in Iowa.

Beyond her work in the field, Ms. Troge earned the opportunity to teach academia for five years as an adjunct instructor at North Iowa Area Community College’s Charles City branch. This endeavor was instrumental in his ability to teach, mentor and inspire future leaders in the legal field.

Ms. Troge’s academic background is equally impressive. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in education from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls in 1985 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1992. Ms. Troge’s education has been instrumental in shaping her legal acumen and ability to make a difference in the lives of her clients. In addition to her formal education, she was admitted to practice by the Iowa Bar Association in 1992 and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa between 1992 and 2005.

Apart from her extensive education, Ms. Troge has maintained numerous professional affiliations, including membership in the Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA) and past involvement with the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association and the ISBA’s family and juvenile law committee. She has also contributed to the Iowa State Bar Review School Inc. as a past board member. Ms. Troge’s civic engagement is exemplified by her active participation in the Charles City Rotary Club, where she served twice as the local president, and her leadership roles within the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

In addition to her primary career endeavors, Ms. Troge has made significant contributions to her community through various civic organizations. She has been involved with the City Improvement Association as a past vice president and served on the board of directors for the Stony Point Players. Ms. Troge’s dedication to the arts is evident through her presidency of the Charles City Arts Council and membership in the Floyd County Historical Society.

Ms. Troge’s accolades include being named Woman of the Year by her local chamber of commerce, Officer of the Year by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and Rotarian of the Year by the Charles City Rotary Club. She also received a Paul Harris Fellow Award.

Rooted in Charles City from birth, Ms. Troge attributes much of her success to her upbringing in a middle-class family that instilled strong values in her. Her deep connections with clients have further propelled her career. Looking ahead, Ms. Troge remains committed to serving as a private practice attorney, magistrate and advocate for those who feel powerless, driven by a passion for justice and community welfare.
