Before joining Fried Frank, Mr. Homan was affiliated with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, a leading international law firm headquartered in New York City with with additional locations in Boston, Washington, D.C., Houston, Los Angeles and Palo Alto, California, and abroad in Beijing, Brussels, Hong Kong, London, Luxembourg, São Paulo and Tokyo. From 2023 to 2025, he refined his skills in managing complex legal matters related to investment funds and mergers and acquisitions as a partner of the organization. Mr. Homan was initially hired as an associate in 2012 and advanced to counsel between 2018 and 2022. His early career was marked by a commitment to excellence and a drive to deepen his understanding of the law.
Mr. Homan’s academic background, which laid the groundwork for his successful career, began with a Bachelor of Science in engineering in systems and control engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 2003 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in 2009. While pursuing his law degree, he completed a judicial internship with the Federal Judiciary, Southern District of New York, under the Honorable Barbara S. Jones in 2007 and a chambers internship with the Second Circuit under the Honorable Sonia Sotomayor in 2008. These roles provided Mr. Homan with insights into the judicial process and reinforced his interest in pursuing a career in law.
Active in his professional community, Mr. Homan is a member of the New York City Bar Association, reflecting his commitment to staying engaged with the broader legal community. Beyond his work-related goals, he is actively involved in civic activities, providing pro bono legal services to those in need and engaging in charity work with his local humane society.
