Besides his legal contributions, he has been the founder of Mabachi LLC since 2019, the director of the International Short Film Competition and a producer, manager, legal researcher and digital marketing professional for the Forum on Life, Culture and Society since 2017. Leveraging his passion and expertise to continue driving success, Mr. Abachi began his career in mechanical engineering before pivoting into teaching high school physics. In 2012, he became a paralegal at Maleki Law Offices, followed by his role as a senior attorney at Sethi Mazaheri LLC until 2025.
In preparation for his future, Mr. Abachi received an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from a university in Tehran, Iran. He later obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence in the U.S. at Rutgers University in New Jersey before being admitted to practice by the New Jersey Bar Association. Additionally, Mr. Abachi received certification in immigration law at Rutgers University and completed a certificate program in art and cultural heritage law at Georgetown University Law Center. Besides his formal education, he remains at the forefront of his industry as a member of the New Jersey Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association, where he is also active on the immigration and nationality law committee.
Following in his parents’ footsteps, both attorneys in his native Iran, Mr. Abachi chose to pursue law when he immigrated to the U.S. because he believed in the nation’s legal system. Since then, he has become recognized for his expertise in immigration, artist immigration, entertainment law, copyright and trademark law, and other areas of this niche area of the law. Mr. Abachi is passionate about his work and particularly enjoys advocating for immigrant artists, one of the most underrepresented communities in the U.S. Besides his work-related obligations, he enjoys serving on various civic boards, including Big Dance Theater and the Artistic Freedom Initiative, volunteering as the co-founder of the Iranian Community of the Northeast and engaging in various other capacities as a dedicated member of his community. Aiming to continue expanding his firm, Mr. Abachi has been recognized with numerous accolades, including an Avvo Client’s Choice Award in 2023 and a Rising Star in Super Lawyers in 2025.
