Highly experienced in corporate and finance law, Mr. Quick is also well-versed in dealing with business entities. His tenure has earned him significant success as an outside general counsel for family offices and portfolio companies. He has also established numerous relationships with commercial real estate developers in structuring their business transactions. Moreover, Mr. Quick has accumulated over two decades of expertise in corporate governance, with particular experience in managing his firm’s response to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act after being introduced in 2002 to strengthen securities regulations and punish corporate fraud after scandals like Enron.
Before passing the bar, Mr. Quick worked as an engineering assistant at the Marshall County Engineer’s Office, a structural engineering laboratory assistant at Iowa State University, and an intern engineer in a petroleum refinery.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Quick has excelled in higher education as an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas Law School since 2017. He finds tremendous satisfaction in inspiring and mentoring the next generation of attorneys through his teachings.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Quick obtained a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering with a minor in philosophy, with distinction, from Iowa State University in 1993 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Michigan in 1997.
Adding to his professional dedication, Mr. Quick is active in several notable industry-related organizations, such as the Kansas Bar Association, where he formerly chaired its corporate statute and LLC statute review committees and is a past member of the board of governors, among other roles. Mr. Quick has been recognized by the Kansa Bar Association with its 2024 Distinguished Service Award and its 2019 Outstanding Service Award. He is also active in the Missouri Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the American Bar Association’s business law section.
Mr. Quick’s free time has been dedicated to various community organizations and initiatives. He has been active with the Kansas City Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts, a board director for RareKC and a counsel for the Crossroads Community Association. He formerly served as an assistant scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America and the advancement chair for the Heart of America council, reflecting his dedication to supporting the youth. In 2025, Mr. Quick was awarded a National NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award.
Mr. Quick notably co-authored and co-proudced to a 30-minute boardroom drama film exploring various critical issues in corporate governance. He also authored the “Kansas Limited Liability Companies Handbook” in 2021, “The Directors Dilemmas,” and “The Corporate Transparency Act Desk Book” in 2024. JD Supra, a legal articles aggregator and publisher, recognized Mr. Quick with a 2025 JD Supra Reader’s Choice Award for his prolific thought leadership on the Corporate Transparency Act.
In light of his accomplishments, Mr. Quick received several accolades, including recognition among the 40 Under 40 by Ingram’s Magazine for the Kansas City region in 2009, a Missouri Lawyers Media Up and Coming Award in 2009, and a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2008. Additionally, he maintains an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell, a testament to his integrity in law. Attributing his success to his ability to maintain a strong focus, Mr. Quick actively pursues meaningful endeavors that help him achieve goals he is passionate about achieving.
