Moreover, Mr. Belongia has testified before the California State Senate Committee on Banking and Financial Institutions, aided critical asset acquisition for Veristar LLC, and mediated a settlement with the FDIC that saved his clients more than $85 million.
To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Belongia pursued an education at Drake University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and accounting in 1995. He concluded his studies at the DePaul University College of Law in 1999, graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Soon thereafter, he was admitted to practice by the Illinois State Bar Association. In addition to these accomplishments, Mr. Belongia has notably represented cases before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Central and Northern Districts of Illinois, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Seventh Circuit, the U.S. Tax Court and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Beyond his primary endeavors, Mr. Belongia has been affiliated with a number of organizations in relation to his areas of expertise, including the Chicago Bar Association and the Justinian Society of Lawyers. As a testament to his legal acumen, he has exhibited his wealth of knowledge on several media programs and entertainment outlets such as “The Today Show” on NBC, the NBC5 Chicago News, and WGN-AM Radio. Moreover, Mr. Belongia contributed as a legal commentator in the E! Entertainment Special “Biggest Reality Scandals” in 2013.
